Bill has treated us to some very early shots of planes without their camouflage paint.  These are from his 1965 deployment.  

  In Bill's words "Just Plane Pretty" and I agree.  The F-105 was a beautiful aircraft that looked like it was designed for the purpose it was built for - fast and powerful.

Thuds on the line.  Note the circlular parking pads.  These were supposedly leftover from the Japanese years at Takhli.  In any event, quite nonfunctional for modern jet aircraft.

   

KC-135s parked.  Extra fuel tanks for F-105s on the side barely showing

Gotta love this blast shield, looks like it could be blown over by a good breeze, let alone a jet engine.  Note all the mid-field clutter
